Adult Learning Forums
The Adult Learning Committee will continue a sixpart
series on religion and society. The final three
forums will be held in January (15th, 22nd, 19th).
In addition, there will be one forum offered in
December. Tentatively, the topics that will be
covered are:
January 15th — Budget forum by Trustees
January 22nd — The Price of Freedom Denied (Religious freedom, persecution, and conflict
around the world)
January 29th — The Plot to Kill God (Religion
and Faith in the former Soviet Union)
February 5th — The Crusades, Christianity,
and Islam (How Much of the Conventional
Wisdom Concerning the Crusades is Wrong)
Basic Bible Study
We are
studying the book of Romans, which has deeply
influenced Christianity in many eras. The kickoff
meeting will provide an overview of the series and
discuss the schedule for the fourteen lessons. Due to
various Sundays with conflicts this year, we will
have our first lesson on Sept. 18, followed by a
break for the Church Picnic. The study is designed
to provide background for anyone with any level of
familiarity with the Bible. We openly share ideas
and welcome questions. Please feel free to bring a
lunch and join us in the Friendship room to learn
more about the series, or contact John Heberling for
more information.
