Neighborhood Resource Groups are in place and ready to help!
The recent tragedies in Haiti and Chile remind us that a serious earthquake is always a possibility for those of us who live in earthquake country. While everyone is doing what they can to help the people in Haiti and Chile, we also need to prepare ourselves in case an earthquake or other serious disaster strikes here. That's what our Church's NRGs (Neighborhood Resource Groups) are all about.
With your cooperation, the Health Ministries Team has organized our Church members and others who attend Church regularly into geographically defined groups who can contact and support each other in a crisis. There are 25 groups, each with between 3 and 32 members. Each group has one or two "point people" or "point families" acting as the central hub for the exchange of information in time of critical need.
Each household should keep a list of the members in their NRG, including contact information and the name of their "point people." It's one way we're putting our ENERGY to work for each other.
